PLN 24

I rencently read an article called Consequences for missed practices in the ESPN lacrosse forums. It was a womens lacrosse coach asking about what they should do when there players dont come to practice and how they should make them want to come instead of getting punished.

I have not missed a practice without being unaccused but some of my team mates have and usually they miss the game that is coming up or get their playing time cut. If they start and miss practice they dont start. It really depends on how many practices they miss and when they miss it. If they miss practice on a day where you just play games, like after a win on a By week then they shouldnt be punished. If the individual misses multiple practices and doesnt have an excusse then they should be benched or the coach should make the whole team run or something to get it through there heads that missing practice is not good and everyone will be punished. If they miss a practice before the game then they definatly shouldnt play becuase they wont know the plays and they will just mess things up.

This relates to the world becuase im sure new time coaches or even old expericenced coaches are still having trouble dealing with players missing practice. The coaches should ask the players what would make them not miss practice and then work together off of that. Most coaches are the same in that they all want to win but sometimes if a great player does wrong they will bench them just for an example to the rest of the team and it doesnt matter which sport it is.
