I just read the article called Obesity 'not individuals' fault' and it talked about just what the title says. It talked about how the obiese people dont have to be obiese they just either chose to by eating fatty food and not exercising or just being lazy. In one year in Britian there was $7 million that was put into helping the obiese in hospitals and careing for them. In 40 years that could be up to 46 million dollars. Sometimes its in the childrens genes that they are going to be large and overwieght but people can help themsleves out a little bit I think. i personaly think that a way to not be obeise is to not be so lazy. Ive seen people drive around a parking lot for hours just to get the spot in the front and then there are about 100 empty spots in the back of the parking lot but people are to lazy. Some people drive to their nieghbors house, that is very lazy. On Tv now they have these comicals about people losing wieght and being more active. It shows a huge butt on the ground and then a man says " Oh someone must have lost it playing with their kids". I think those are great comericals becuase it just shows how lazy people are these day that they wont even play with there kids or park further away just to get a walk in. This article also said they might put a higher tax on unhealthy foods. I think this a good idea. This way the overwieght people wont eat it and the people that arent overwieght wont get overwieght. This relates to the world but one this article was written in Britan so there has to be an obesity problem there and I know for a fact that there is an obesity problem here. I'm sure not only Britan and the U.S are the only ones with problems so there has to be more unless every other country is perefect which I doubt. I think that people should get off there butts and not be so lazy anymore and get out there and lose wieght if they have to and the ones that dont should just stay healthy for a healthier world.

Berry! I think that bringing your laptop to school would be a good idea... but at the same time bad. I agree with you that they shouldn't even be doing that in middle school! But I think it's the person's responibility to get their own birth control pills, not the school. Great job!

You made good eye conact and talked about interesting things that caught everyones attention. I agree with you that they shouldnt be giving birth control pills to middle schoolers. My little sister is in middle school and I dont want my little sister going around doing that with boys at such a young age. Very good job.

You did a good job with your presentation, you were a little disorganized, but other than that you did a great job!

Berek,
Ummmm....interesting topics for your presentations. But you supported your ideas very well. For your question, I think it is the person's fault for deciding to get certain foods and for them to choose not to exercise.

You made good eye contact and spoke loudly and clearly. I like how you went into good detail about your PLNs and how you gave your opinion on these posts. Your question was good because it wasn't just a simple yes or no question because you also asked how can we stop it.
